Role Overview:
Platform Engineers are part of the Solutions and Platforms team, which supports strategic data and advanced analytics platforms that ingest data from a wide range of internal and external data sources in real-time and batch, apply complex business transformation rules, and create consumption-optimized polyglot data assets for strategic and operational use cases.

This role will play a significant part in transitioning a large-scale data platform to a cloud-based environment. It is ideal for individuals with strong knowledge and skills in their area of specialisation, along with the desire and ability to learn across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate within self-organised Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions.

• Drive and enhance CI/CD and DevSecOps practices in Microsoft Azure to deploy and support services related to the SAS Viya 4 Platform and underlying Azure PaaS services.

• Continuously identify opportunities to automate and streamline development, deployment, and release processes.

• Install, configure, and maintain SAS Viya 4 in Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

• Integrate SAS Viya 4 with enterprise systems, authentication providers, and diverse data sources.

• Monitor, tune, and optimize the performance and availability of the SAS Viya 4 platform.

• Implement and enforce security policies, governance standards, and compliance procedures to ensure data protection.

• Automate recurring administrative tasks (user/group provisioning, scaling, security enforcement).

• Proactively diagnose and resolve technical issues related to SAS Viya platform services.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical data analytics initiatives.

• Stay current with industry and technology trends, adopting innovative solutions and contributing to continuous improvement.

• Deliver robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions that provide meaningful business value and customer impact.

• Align team focus with organisational priorities: Fix, Simplify, Perform.

• Act with accountability by asking both “can we” and “should we” when making technical and strategic decisions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience with SAS Viya 4 platform administration.

• Expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services and PaaS components.

• Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation tools.

• Knowledge of authentication, security, and governance in cloud and enterprise environments.

• Scripting skills (Shell, Python, or similar) for automation
