Job Title: Security Tools Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months with potential extensions
Security Clearance: Baseline or NV1 (NV1 preferred)
Citizenship: Australian required

Role:
We are seeking a Security Tools SME to lead the transition, configuration, and deployment of critical security tools including Carbon Black, Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP), and Data Center Security (DCS). This role ensures smooth migration from service providers to in-house operations and optimizes tools for endpoint protection, threat detection, and data center security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end transition of security tools from external providers to internal teams.

• Install, configure, and optimize security tools across enterprise systems.

• Design security tool architecture and ensure integration with existing infrastructure.

• Monitor tool performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing optimization.

• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

• Collaborate with SOC, IT, and DevOps teams; provide guidance and training.

• Manage vendors, licenses, and evaluate new security technologies.

• Support incident response and threat detection using deployed tools.

Must-Have Skills:

• Australian Citizen; security clearance desirable.

• Enterprise tool ecosystem experience (ITSM, monitoring, security tools).

• Tool configuration, integration, and lifecycle management.

• Cloud, networking, and virtualization knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP preferred).

Preferred Skills:

• IT tool architecture, performance optimization, and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash).

• API integration and DevOps practices including CI/CD and IaC.
