Senior Assurance Officer – Enterprise Portfolio Management
We are seeking an experienced Senior Assurance Officer to join a high-performing Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) within a large and complex environment.
This role sits within the Assurance & Quality function, delivering a coordinated and risk-based Independent Assurance Review (IAR) capability across enterprise projects, programs, and portfolios.
You will play a key role in enabling confident investment and delivery decisions by coordinating assurance reviews, driving quality outcomes, identifying delivery risks, and providing actionable portfolio insights.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage Independent Assurance Reviews (IARs) aligned to Gateway Review principles

Lead review planning, stakeholder coordination, scheduling, and post-review activities

Deliver high-quality, risk-focused assurance outputs and reports

Provide portfolio-level insights on delivery risks, systemic issues, and improvement opportunities

Engage with senior executives, project sponsors, governance groups, and review panels

Support continuous improvement across assurance tools, processes, and delivery practices
About You

Strong experience delivering or coordinating assurance reviews, Gateway Reviews, or similar functions

Solid understanding of project/program/portfolio delivery and enterprise risk

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Ability to synthesise complex information into concise, actionable insights

Experience working in large, complex delivery environments
Desirable
-
Experience within a Gateway Unit or central assurance function
-
PRINCE2, MSP, PMI or related assurance/project certifications
Contract Details

12-month contract with strong potential for extension
