Senior Business Analyst

An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a major transformation initiative within a large Queensland Government environment.
You will play a key role in shaping contemporary, user-centred digital solutions. Operating in a complex ICT delivery landscape, you will work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure high-quality outcomes across the full delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Proactively engage and manage relationships with diverse stakeholder groups across business and ICT.

Lead and facilitate business and technical workshops to elicit, validate, and refine requirements.

Act as a key point of contact for defined stakeholder groups, ensuring clear and open communication.

Own solution design activities and collaborate with stakeholders to finalise fit-for-purpose designs aligned with industry best practice.

Document business, system, and configuration requirements using structured analysis techniques.

Manage expectations in a constrained delivery environment with competing priorities.

Liaise with vendor delivery teams to support development cycles and ensure quality, timely outcomes.

Lead testing activities, including development of test strategies, plans, cases, and reporting.
Skills and Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst.

Strong capability in rapidly understanding business needs and translating them into clear, traceable requirements.

Demonstrated experience supporting application design and delivery initiatives.

Exposure to technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform and identity/security solutions (e.g. MFA) is desirable.

Proven experience working with vendors, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

Highly collaborative, delivery-focused approach.
Mandatory Requirements

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with proven experience leading workshops.

Demonstrated experience identifying and validating multiple requirement types (business, system, configuration).

Strong understanding of structured testing methodologies and artefacts, including test strategies, plans, cases, and reports.
