Senior Business Analyst
Brisbane CBD – Hybrid
- PAYG rate: $121.29 per hour plus super
- ABN rate: $121.29 per hour plus GST
- Contract until 30/09/2026 with potential extension
Paxus is currently partnering with a major Queensland Government program to appoint an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of a significant ICT solution focused on improving service outcomes within a complex human services environment. The role is based in Brisbane CBD and will play a key part in shaping end to end business and solution requirements for a large-scale transformation initiative.
This opportunity would suit a seasoned Business Analyst who is confident working across complex stakeholder groups, translating business needs into clear requirements, and contributing to solution design within a large Agile delivery environment.
What you will be doing
- Lead the capture, analysis and documentation of business and solution requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria
- Develop and analyse process maps using BPMN
- Facilitate workshops and engage with internal and external stakeholders across government and non-government environments
- Support business impact assessments and process analysis activities
- Contribute to key project artefacts including functional requirements, statements of work, test scenarios and benefits documentation
- Perform gap and fit analysis to assess solution options and alignment with business needs
- Partner with project and technical teams to support architectural assessment and preferred solution selection
- Engage with vendors during procurement and support evaluation of technical capability and functional fit
- Assess downstream business impacts and change requirements, with a focus on continuity, risk reduction and effective service delivery.
What we are looking for
- Strong experience in business requirements elicitation, analysis, process modelling and requirements validation
- Demonstrated experience in options analysis, estimation and planning
- Excellent communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement capability
- Proven ability to work in Agile delivery environments and support delivery through sprint and iteration cycles
- Experience producing clear, testable and unambiguous documentation
- Confidence working across large, complex government or enterprise programs.
Highly regarded
- Experience in transformation or business reform programs
- Background working in government service delivery settings
- Exposure to human services or sensitive client-focused environments
- Experience with Azure DevOps or JIRA
- BPMN modelling capability
- Experience with Dynamics 365 and complex external integrations
- Experience working in environments with high information security and sensitive personal data.
