SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST - NORTHERN TERRITORY

A major government program is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support digital transformation initiatives through high value projects. You will collaborate with project leadership, multidisciplinary teams, and service providers to deliver successful business outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and focus groups to elicit, analyse and document business and functional requirements.
  • Ensure requirements traceability and validate business analysis deliverables with stakeholders.
  • Support testing activities, including preparing and executing test plans and cases.
  • Apply business analysis techniques to document requirements, objectives, outcomes, processes, procedures, work instructions, and workflows.
  • Prepare high quality documentation aligned with project management frameworks and standards.
  • Manage sensitive information and records in line with information management policies.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst/Senior Business Analyst, ideally in complex environments.
  • Advanced skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, information analysis/modelling, and end-to-end project delivery.
  • Ability to map business requirements to product functionality, identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Strong skills in user research, digital product design, technical writing, and usability testing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, client liaison and facilitating change.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating in high-performing teams and delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; familiarity with JIRA and SharePoint or willingness to learn.
  • Experience in legislative and regulatory analysis relevant to business operations.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with BPMN 2.0 or similar process notation.
  • Previous government sector experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work effectively in diverse teams.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, accountable, and professional.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, integrity, and quality outcomes.

ESSENTIAL

  • Ability to work onsite in Darwin for the duration of the contract.
  • National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).
  • Relevant work rights for Australia.
