Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in developing, reviewing, or contributing to organisational and project-level Information Security strategies.
- Proven capability in conducting and leading cybersecurity research activities with minimal supervision.
- Deep understanding of applied research principles in information security, coupled with practical hands-on experience.
- Skilled in analysing and identifying cyber threats, with a strong ability to produce comprehensive reports and actionable recommendations.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards such as Essential 8 and familiarity with IRAP assessments.
- Ability to assess security practices and procedures for compliance with applicable policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills and innovative mindset to identify vulnerabilities and anticipate intrusion techniques.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex cybersecurity issues clearly.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Certified Infosec Registered Assessor Program (IRAP) accreditation.
- Experience working with government or defense agencies.
- Knowledge of offensive cyber operations and foreign signals intelligence.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and protocols related to government and defense sectors.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant senior-level cybersecurity experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting government or defense projects within security-sensitive environments.
Other Requirements:
- Must hold a Positive Vetting security clearance.
- Willingness to work onsite at the designated location, subject to operational requirements.
- Initial 12-month contract, renewable up to two additional years.
- Maximum working hours: 40 per week.
