SENIOR CYBER ANALYST - QLD GOVERNMENT
Play a critical role in strengthening Cyber Security across a Queensland Government department. This role focuses on uplifting Essential Eight maturity, identifying and responding to cyber threats, and delivering practical security improvements across the organisation.
THE ROLE
- Leading cyber security initiatives, including Essential Eight uplift and broader security improvements
- Delivering cyber and ICT security projects in partnership with technical specialists
- Supporting security planning across systems, services and infrastructure
- Monitoring cyber threats, tools and emerging technologies
- Representing cyber security in engagements with government, regulatory and industry bodies
- Providing clear, practical security advice aligned to business needs
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Strong experience in cyber security operations including threat detection, incident response and vulnerability management
- Proven delivery of complex cyber or ICT projects using PRINCE2, Agile or hybrid approaches
- Hands on experience with SIEM, IDS or IPS, vulnerability tools, Sentinel, PAM, SOC and endpoint security
- Solid understanding of network security, cloud, remote access, 5G and Zero Trust concepts
- Knowledge of Queensland Government cyber policies, IS18 and the ACSC Essential Eight
- Strong commercial, financial and procurement skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a small, fast paced team
- Previous government experience is essential
