Senior Investment Data Business Analyst

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Investment Data Business Analyst to join a leading superannuation and investment organisation, driving data excellence across its investment operations.

As a key liaison between investment teams, technology experts, and external partners, you will play a pivotal role in translating complex data needs into effective, scalable solutions. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong business analysis expertise with a deep understanding of investment data, and who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with investment stakeholders, understanding and translating business needs into actionable data requirements.

• Lead requirements analysis and workshops for investment data and systems initiatives.

• Facilitate backlog prioritisation and support the design and delivery of technical solutions.

• Develop current and future state process flows, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with software developers, data engineers, and vendors on design, configuration, and implementation activities.

• Support testing, system rollout, and post‑implementation reviews.

• Contribute to governance, knowledge management, and program reporting processes.

• Promote continuous improvement across investment data processes and frameworks.

About You

You bring a combination of analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to confidently engage with diverse stakeholder groups and drive data‑driven decision‑making across investment teams.

Essential experience and capabilities:

• Significant experience as a Senior Investment Data Business Analyst within investment management or financial services.

• Advanced analytical capabilities including requirements decomposition, data modelling, and process mapping.

• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and financial data providers.

• Proven experience in system implementation and testing.

Desirable experience:

• Exposure to Python, R, Power Query, or similar data wrangling tools.

• Experience with data migration or onboarding projects.

• Professional certification in data management (e.g. DMBOK).

• Familiarity with project methodologies such as Agile, PMBOK, or Prince2.

• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
