Senior Development Manager – Agile ICT Transformation

Locations: ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC
Duration: 12-month contract + 12-month extension option
Clearance: Australian Citizenship with Baseline Security Clearance
Level: EL1 Equivalent

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead the end-to-end technical delivery of a major digital transformation initiative within a federal government agency. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring high-quality, standards-compliant development across a complex, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight across multiple Agile Development Teams (ADTs)
• Collaborate with systems and IT teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and standards
• Define and implement code review frameworks and development standards
• Act as an escalation point for technical risks, dependencies, and issues
• Promote consistency through common component design and reuse
• Foster a Developer Community of Practice to drive innovation and knowledge sharing

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Strong understanding of enterprise ICT environments including cloud, networking, security, and integration
• Proven experience delivering technical capabilities using Agile methodologies (SAFe, PRINCE2, or hybrid)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical data and reports
• Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in managing competing priorities and evolving requirements
• High personal integrity and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes in a collaborative team environment

Desirable:

• Experience in government or regulated ICT environments
• Familiarity with Australian Government security standards (e.g., ISM, IRAP)
• Exposure to enterprise architecture and scalable solution design
• Relevant certifications (e.g., SAFe, ITIL, PMP, AWS, Azure)
