We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with expertise in Hydraulic, Civil, or Mechanical engineering to provide high-level technical design, advisory, and governance services across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
The role
In this position, you will act as a trusted technical practitioner, working on complex and critical engineering projects from concept through to detailed design, auditing, and implementation. You will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure solutions are safe, fit-for-purpose, and in line with industry best practice.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to engineering design, investigation, and review activities for hydraulic, civil, or mechanical systems.
- Champion Safety in Design principles and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes, and technical standards.
- Provide specialist technical advice to internal teams, project managers, and contractors.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of technical standards and guidelines.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to drive innovation and performance improvements.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and delivering customer-focused solutions.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Hydraulic, or Mechanical Engineering (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
- Extensive experience in the investigation, concept, and detailed design of infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering procedures, standards, and best practice within large-scale infrastructure or water industry environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical issues, conduct audits, and provide clear, practical solutions.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
