As a Senior Linux Engineer and Administrator, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimising Linux and Red Hat solutions that ensure high availability, security, and performance across the organisation's digital ecosystem. - 12 month contract with another 2x12 months extension option.

- Open to Australian citizens with ability to obtain a Baseline clearance

Required Skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or relevant industry experience
- 5+ years’ experience in IT engineering, Linux system design, deployment, or support
- Deep knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) management, security policies, and performance optimisation
- Proven ability to design, document, and maintain complex Linux infrastructure solutions
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or similar languages
- Experience with automation tools, monitoring solutions, and incident management
- Certifications such as RHCE, RHCSA, RHCA, SCA, or SCE are highly desirable
- Self-motivated with excellent collaborative skills to work effectively within a remote, geographically dispersed team
- Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with enterprise architecture and Linux security frameworks such as ISM and Essential 8
- Knowledge of cloud environments, containerisation, and virtualisation technologies
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation and system integration
- Experience leading or supporting major upgrade projects, vulnerability management, and enterprise initiatives
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields
- Extensive practical experience in Linux system engineering, ideally within government or large enterprise setting.
