Senior Project Manager - Control Systems
Contract: 6 -month initial contract with strong extension potential
Location: Adelaide, SA

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Control Systems to lead the planning and delivery of complex technology and operational projects in a large-scale industrial environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior delivery professional with a strong background in operational technology and control systems, ideally within mining, industrial, or heavy engineering settings. You will play a key role in driving projects from early definition through to execution, governance, and handover, while managing stakeholders, delivery teams, and vendors across the full project lifecycle.

The role

As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading business and technology-sponsored initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with agreed objectives, timelines, and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Engage and collaborate with sponsors, business owners, end users, service owners, support teams, technical SMEs, and project team members throughout the full project lifecycle.

• Manage a small project team and coordinate internal and external delivery resources.

• Lead the definition of new initiatives, including high-level assessment of scope, cost, timing, investment options, and business value.

• Develop project objectives, scope, and requirements in partnership with stakeholders.

• Lead projects through planning, execution, governance, and transition using a fit-for-purpose delivery approach.

• Manage project scope, schedule, cost, risks, issues, and dependencies.

• Support strong health and safety performance and reporting across project activities.

• Drive project stage gate processes and funding approvals.

• Manage procurement activities, vendor engagements, and contract delivery.

• Lead or support change management and communications where required.

• Oversee technical change processes including release management and transition to support.

• Ensure project governance activities are completed, including working groups, reporting, and portfolio updates.

• Produce and maintain key delivery artefacts including project plans, schedules, cost models, risk and issue registers, task boards, status reports, and stakeholder communications.

About you

You are a confident and delivery-focused Senior Project Manager with proven experience leading control systems and operational technology projects in complex environments. You can manage multiple workstreams, navigate competing priorities, and build strong relationships across technical and business teams.

Skills and experience

• Proven project management experience delivering operational technology and control systems projects.

• Previous experience in control systems within mining or the electrical industry is highly preferred.

• Strong capability in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and parallel workstreams.

• Solid understanding of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and safety systems is essential.

• Experience in mining, industrial, or other operational environments is highly regarded.

• Familiarity with underground or site-based delivery environments is advantageous.

• Project management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP preferred.

• Relevant tertiary qualification preferred.
