Senior Security Specialist

Contract Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Specialist to join a high-performing Information Security team within a large and complex organisation.
This is a hands-on role focused on Security Operations, incident detection and response, security monitoring and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor, investigate and respond to security events and incidents.
- Work across SIEM, Microsoft Defender and Cloud Security technologies.
- Lead incident response activities, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
- Support threat intelligence, vulnerability assessments and security investigations.
- Lead or support digital forensic investigations where required.
- Work closely with MSSPs, internal technology teams and senior stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve security controls, processes and operational maturity.
- Contribute to incident response plans, playbooks and security governance.
What we're looking for
- Strong hands-on Cyber Security / Security Operations experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender, Splunk and/or Sentinel.
- Strong understanding of Cloud Security, EDR/XDR, network security and firewalls.
- Experience with IAM/PAM, vulnerability management and threat hunting.
- Strong incident response capability and knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK.
- Understanding of ISO 27001, NIST or similar security frameworks.
- Experience with digital forensics, threat intelligence and root cause analysis highly regarded.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications.
