Senior Software Developer
Brisbane | Hybrid | Contract Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to join a high-performing digital team responsible for building and enhancing critical customer-facing platforms used daily across the state. This is your chance to work on high-traffic, real-time systems that directly impact how people move around Queensland.
About the Role
You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining modern digital platforms including:
- A high-traffic public website
- Journey planning and real-time information systems
- Mobile application platforms
- API and integration services
You’ll work across the full development lifecycle—delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions while contributing to continuous platform improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain web applications, APIs, and backend services
- Build and support integrations across CMS, real-time systems, and mobile/web platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues using logs and monitoring tools
- Contribute to code quality, reviews, and development standards
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and DevOps practices
- Collaborate with designers, vendors, and cross-functional teams
- Produce technical documentation and contribute to system improvements
Tech Stack
- Backend: ASP.NET Core (C#), REST APIs, GraphQL
- Frontend: Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS
- Data: Microsoft SQL Server
- Cloud: Microsoft Azure (Functions, Service Bus)
- Tools: Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, Figma
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, customer-facing digital platforms
- Strong capability in API development and system integration
- Experience with headless CMS platforms (e.g. Drupal)
- Solid understanding of cloud-based architectures (Azure preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
