Senior Technical Architect

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and cost-effective technical solutions within a large and complex enterprise technology environment. This role plays a key part in shaping the organisation’s cloud, digital workplace, infrastructure, and platform engineering landscape while collaborating closely with solution architects across data and application domains.

About the Role

As a Senior Technical Architect, you’ll:

• Design, document, and implement enterprise-level technology solutions aligned with strategic objectives and architectural standards.

• Provide technical and architectural leadership across multiple domains, ensuring solutions are robust, secure, and high-performing.

• Develop current and target state documentation and reusable architectural patterns.

• Offer expert guidance on technology selection, non-functional requirements, and operational considerations.

• Oversee design activities delivered by third-party vendors and contribute to the continual improvement of architectural practices.

• Influence technology direction and contribute to enterprise architecture strategy and governance.

About You

You’ll bring:

• Proven technical leadership experience in complex ICT environments.

• Broad technical expertise across:

  • Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP

  • Microsoft 365 services: Azure AD, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint

  • Infrastructure: Windows Server, RHEL, Citrix, VMware

  • Networking & Security: Routing, F5, Palo Alto, Netscaler, DR & continuity planning

  • Databases: SQL Server, Oracle

  • Monitoring, observability, and ITSM tools (ServiceNow)

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence both business and technical teams.

• Experience developing technology strategies and governance frameworks.

Desirable

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field

• Cloud architecture certifications (Azure, AWS, or Google)

• Familiarity with ITIL v4 and vendor/service delivery management

• Experience in superannuation or financial services
