Senior Test Analyst – SAP Finance (ERP Transformation)

A major public sector organisation serving one of Australia’s fastest-growing metropolitan regions is undertaking a large-scale ERP modernisation program and is seeking an experienced Senior Test Analyst (SAP Finance) to join their expanding testing practice.

As part of a multi-year digital transformation, they are modernising their SAP landscape and finance platforms to improve operational efficiency, data insights and service delivery.

This role will play a key part in ensuring the quality and reliability of the Finance components of a major SAP transformation program.

The Role

Reporting to the ERP Test Manager, the Senior Test Analyst will support the Finance Test Lead in delivering system, integration and end-to-end testing across SAP Finance (FICO) and related ERP modules.

You will join a growing test team responsible for coordinating testing activities across a complex enterprise SAP environment, ensuring the platform supports modernised finance processes and integrates effectively with other systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop test strategies, test plans and testing artefacts aligned with program standards

• Analyse requirements and create test scenarios, test cases and traceability matrices

• Execute and coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) across SAP Finance and integrated modules

• Validate end-to-end finance processes including month-end and year-end activities

• Coordinate testing activities across project teams, system integrators and business stakeholders

• Track, manage and resolve defects through to closure

• Produce test progress reports and test summary reports for stakeholders

• Support the management of test environments and test data

• Provide guidance and mentoring to business SMEs and junior testers

• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices within the ERP program

About You

You are an experienced Senior Test Analyst with strong SAP Finance testing expertise and a track record of delivering quality outcomes on complex transformation programs.

You bring:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Test Analyst

• Strong experience testing SAP Finance (FICO) including Financial Accounting and Controlling

• Proven experience performing System Integration Testing across SAP modules

• Experience testing integrations between FICO and modules such as MM, SD or PP

• Experience supporting complex ERP or SAP transformation programs

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills working with finance teams, developers and system integrators

• Proven experience managing defect tracking and testing documentation

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into business language

Highly Regarded

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation programs

• Experience with ECC to S/4HANA migrations

• Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology

• ISTQB certification

• Experience with SAP testing tools such as CALM
