SENIOR TESTER - FINANCE - SAP S4HANA TRANSFORMATION

Our QLD Government client is currently undertaking a major enterprise finance transformation, upgrading a core ERP platform from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA.

As a Senior Tester, you will own the end to end finance testing function across the program. You will design the test strategy, develop test plans and scripts, execute testing cycles, facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and manage defects to ensure a stable, compliant and successful go-live. This role requires strong testing discipline combined with a solid understanding of finance processes, SAP platforms and enterprise delivery governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the end to end test strategy, test plans and detailed test scripts.
• Execute system, integration and UAT cycles with strong evidence capture and reporting.
• Facilitate UAT sessions with finance stakeholders and manage defect triage and resolution.
• Build and maintain the traceability matrix linking requirements to test coverage and go-live evidence.
• Participate in solution design workshops and configuration walkthroughs to ensure adequate test coverage.
• Support data migration activities including data cleansing, validation and reconciliation.
• Validate end to end finance processes and controls following migration and configuration changes.
• Contribute to training materials and business readiness activities.
• Maintain auditable test artefacts aligned to enterprise governance standards.
• Identify and escalate risks, issues and dependencies proactively.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Strong hands on testing experience across SAP ECC6, SAP S/4HANA and integrated enterprise systems.
• Proven ability to build test strategies, test plans, test scripts and execute complex testing cycles.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating UAT and managing defects in large programs.
• Strong understanding of finance processes and controls including general ledger, AP/AR, chart of accounts, asset management, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Experience working on large-scale SAP or ERP transformation programs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a risk-based testing mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience using testing and delivery tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

Desirable

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA fit-to-standard delivery approaches.
• SAP or formal testing certification.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or related disciplines.
