ServiceNow Functional Consultant
12-Month Contract | Hybrid | Canberra
We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Functional Consultant to join a large-scale transformation program.
About the Role
You’ll work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translate requirements into practical ServiceNow solutions, and provide functional direction to developers throughout delivery.
This is a client-facing consulting role suited to someone who can take ownership, communicate confidently and turn business problems into effective ServiceNow solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business stakeholders and lead requirements/discovery workshops
- Translate business requirements into ServiceNow functional designs
- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria and process documentation
- Perform hands-on ServiceNow configuration where required
- Provide functional guidance to ServiceNow developers
- Review configuration and development against agreed designs
- Support testing, defect investigation and resolution
- Work collaboratively with architects, developers, BAs, testers and other delivery teams
- Provide practical recommendations and challenge requirements where appropriate
Required Experience
Strong ServiceNow implementation experience across one or more of:
- HR Case Management / HRSD
- HR Journey / Journey Management
- Workplace Health & Safety
- Contract Management
Experience must include functional design, configuration and implementation, not just operational or end-user experience.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience as a ServiceNow Functional Consultant or similar
- Strong requirements gathering and process design skills
- Hands-on ServiceNow configuration experience
- Experience facilitating workshops and solution design sessions
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders
- Experience providing functional leadership to developers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong consulting, ownership and stakeholder management skills
Location & Eligibility
- Canberra preferred
- Melbourne candidates considered, with travel to Canberra likely required
- Australian Citizenship mandatory
- Baseline Clearance preferred
- Must be able to meet applicable security and background-check requirements
