Our client, in the public sector, is seeking a Solution Architect to join the growing team within the ICT Systems Reform Directorate. This is an initial 12-month contract with possibilities of extensions.
Reporting to the Program Architect, the Solution Architect will be crucial in ensuring the program's success. Guiding application architecture to align with an agreed reference architecture and program timelines.
What you'll be doing:

Developing solution architecture artefacts (documents and diagrams) aligned with business needs and existing bespoke software reference architecture.

Collaborating across teams (analysis, designers, engineers, QA, and change managers) to link functional, experiential, and technical aspects of solutions.

Leading technical teams to deliver solutions that are fit-for-purpose, supportable, reusable, interoperable, and maximise technology investment.

Aligning internal development teams, partners, and vendors towards a shared outcome.

Presenting requirements, user needs, solution details, and designs to a wide range of key stakeholders.

Ensuring compliance with Cyber Security and departmental policies and procedures.
What you'll bring:
-
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Solution Architect.

Hands-on engineering experience across Angular, .NET, and SQL.

Prior experience and ability to lead a technical team for delivery activities.

Effective communication skills to consult with stakeholders and translate complex requirements into architecture artefacts and application delivery.

Experience with DevSecOps ways of working, including using Azure DevOps tooling.

Prior experience with:
-
Alignment of solution architecture to reference architectures.
-
Solution architecture documentation.
-
Technical design documentation.
-
Skilled use of PowerPoint, Visio, and other productivity tools to produce audience-tailored artefacts.

Desirable:
-
Understanding of Data and Integration architecture domains.

Understanding of project and product management practices.
-
Prior architecture experience within Government sector.
-
Knowledge of Government or departmental security policies.
