Solution Architect (Integration & Service Management Platforms)
- Initial engagement for a large-scale transition program
- Location: Canberra
- NV1 security clearance is must
- Defence experience preferred
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of a complex system integration program within a secure, enterprise environment.
This role focuses on building a temporary, bi-directional integration between two IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms to support a major transition program. The integration will enable near real-time exchange of records across multiple service management processes.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design
- Design end-to-end integration for Incident, Request, Problem, and Change processes
- Develop message interface specifications including:
- Field mappings
- Trigger events
- Data validation rules
- Messaging formats (REST/JSON)
- Ensure the solution is maintainable, scalable, and avoids unnecessary customisation
Integration Architecture
- Define system interfaces and integration patterns
- Design network topology and data exchange models
- Establish logging, monitoring, and audit mechanisms
- Ensure traceability and data integrity across systems
Technical Leadership
- Assess integration requirements against platform capabilities
- Provide guidance on best practices and architectural standards
- Support governance processes and design approvals
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into architecture
- Support decision-making across integration, security, and platform design
Platform & Operating Model
- Contribute to platform operating model design
- Support adoption and long-term maintainability of the solution
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect in large enterprise environments
- Strong experience with ITSM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow or similar)
- Hands-on experience designing system integrations using REST APIs and JSON
- Solid understanding of:
- Integration architecture patterns
- Data transformation and mapping
- Logging, monitoring, and audit design
- Experience working with complex network environments (highly desirable)
- Ability to produce clear architectural documentation and interface specifications
