Solution Architect (Integration & Service Management Platforms)

• Initial engagement for a large-scale transition program
• Location: Canberra
• NV1 security clearance is must
• Defence experience preferred

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of a complex system integration program within a secure, enterprise environment.

This role focuses on building a temporary, bi-directional integration between two IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms to support a major transition program. The integration will enable near real-time exchange of records across multiple service management processes.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design

• Design end-to-end integration for Incident, Request, Problem, and Change processes
• Develop message interface specifications including:
• Field mappings
• Trigger events
• Data validation rules
• Messaging formats (REST/JSON)
• Ensure the solution is maintainable, scalable, and avoids unnecessary customisation

Integration Architecture

• Define system interfaces and integration patterns
• Design network topology and data exchange models
• Establish logging, monitoring, and audit mechanisms
• Ensure traceability and data integrity across systems

Technical Leadership

• Assess integration requirements against platform capabilities
• Provide guidance on best practices and architectural standards
• Support governance processes and design approvals

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into architecture
• Support decision-making across integration, security, and platform design

Platform & Operating Model

• Contribute to platform operating model design
• Support adoption and long-term maintainability of the solution

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect in large enterprise environments
• Strong experience with ITSM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow or similar)
• Hands-on experience designing system integrations using REST APIs and JSON
• Solid understanding of:
• Integration architecture patterns
• Data transformation and mapping
• Logging, monitoring, and audit design
• Experience working with complex network environments (highly desirable)
• Ability to produce clear architectural documentation and interface specifications
