We are seeking an experienced Splunk Specialist to support a major government program. This role goes beyond technical administration — the successful candidate will combine Splunk expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills, working closely with staff and customers to deliver dashboards that add real business value.
You’ll have the chance to own the Splunk platform within a large, complex environment, ensuring it remains stable and effective while helping stakeholders understand, visualise, and act on their data.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and optimise Splunk dashboards that meet business and customer needs.
- Partner with business users to gather requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
- Provide light administration across the Splunk platform (data ingestion, forwarders, troubleshooting).
- Collaborate with service providers and the Splunk vendor as required.
- Ensure dashboards remain reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with project outcomes.
Must-Have Skills
- Proven experience designing and delivering Splunk dashboards in an enterprise environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills — ability to talk to business users and draw out requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk administration tasks (data ingestion, forwarders, platform updates).
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify risks, and maintain data integrity.
- Available to start within 2–3 weeks’ notice.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Brisbane-based — interstate applicants will only be considered if relocating to Brisbane by the end of the month.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Public sector or large program experience (adds trust and credibility).
- Experience with Splunk automation, data clean-ups, or security-focused implementations.
- Familiarity with professional services/vendor environments.
Why Apply?
- Opportunity to work on a high-impact government initiative with visibility across multiple stakeholders.
- Blend of technical Splunk work and business-facing engagement — perfect for someone who enjoys variety.
- Flexible hybrid work with a central CBD office location.
- Competitive daily rates with potential for contract extension beyond EOFY.
