Strategic Procurement & Commercial Lead (Technology Program)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement & Commercial Lead to play a critical role in delivering a large scale, technology transformation program.

This is a high impact position responsible for leading commercial strategy, procurement, and contract management across a complex, multi-vendor environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure commercial outcomes, risk management, and supplier performance are optimised across the program lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end to end procurement and commercial activities for major technology contracts
• Provide strategic commercial advice to senior stakeholders and program leadership
• Manage complex supplier ecosystems, ensuring strong performance and accountability
• Oversee contract negotiation, execution, and change management
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks, while driving value-for-money outcomes
• Develop and maintain contract management plans and governance frameworks
• Prepare executive level reports, briefs, and recommendations
• Build strong relationships across internal teams, vendors, and partners

About You

You are a commercially astute leader with a proven track record in complex procurement and contract management environments, ideally within large scale technology or infrastructure programs.

You will bring:

• 10–15+ years’ experience in procurement, commercial, or contract management roles
• Strong experience managing high value, complex vendor contracts
• Demonstrated success in negotiation, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively at executive level
• Experience working in matrix organisations and large transformation programs
• Strong analytical, financial, and commercial acumen
• A hands on, outcomes-driven approach with high attention to detail

Desirable:

• Experience in technology, telecommunications, or operational infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with government or regulated procurement frameworks
• Relevant qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, or Procurement
