Strategic Risk Specialist

Are you an experienced Strategic Risk Specialist with a strong background in cyber security, enterprise risk and governance? This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact program supporting improved risk management, cyber security governance and assurance across a complex government environment.
About the Role
As a Strategic Risk Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of strategic risk and cyber security initiatives. You will work across multiple stakeholders to assess risks, develop practical guidance, support strategic threat assessments and contribute to whole-of-government risk management activities.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and managing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analysing security risk tools, techniques, compliance and assurance reporting.
- Supporting strategic threat assessments and risk analysis activities.
- Facilitating workshops, research and stakeholder engagement to identify and address risks.
- Developing practical guidance and promoting better-practice risk management.
- Supporting supply chain risk management initiatives.
- Contributing to project planning, risk, change, quality and resource management.
- Monitoring and reporting on program benefits, risks, issues, dependencies, finances and overall progress.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise and cyber risk management.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary cyber security policies, standards and frameworks, such as ISO 27001/27000, NIST or equivalent industry standards.
- Experience delivering risk, governance or cyber security initiatives within complex environments.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage effectively from technical teams through to senior executives.
- Strategic thinking and planning capability, with the ability to influence outcomes and support organisational change.
- Experience across vendor, contract and resource management.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to manage competing priorities in a changing environment.
Desirable
A tertiary qualification or significant practical experience in risk analysis, program management and/or project management will be highly regarded.
