Senior Mobile Application Development Lead (Xamarin / MAUI) – Brisbane CBD (Hybrid)

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Application Development Lead to join our Brisbane team and drive the delivery of high-quality mobile apps for iOS and Android. About the Role:
You will be a subject matter expert, responsible for the technical direction and mentoring of mobile development squads. From conceptualisation to release, you’ll guide your team through all phases of the application lifecycle, ensuring our apps meet the highest standards in performance, security, and user experience. You will collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, other senior technical experts, and key stakeholders to deliver seamless and user-friendly mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership in Xamarin or MAUI-based cross-platform mobile development for iOS and Android.
  
• Guide requirements gathering, technical design, code development and system change implementation.
  
• Supervise and support a development squad, overseeing planning, code reviews, peer reviews, testing, documentation, and reporting.
  
• Mentor junior team members, fostering skills development and best practices.
  
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate concepts into user-friendly designs.
  
• Integrate mobile applications with back-end services using RESTful APIs.
  
• Troubleshoot, identify and resolve issues and bottlenecks to optimise app quality and performance.
  
• Ensure adherence to CI/CD practices and maintain code versioning (Git).
  
• Stay updated on mobile technology trends; champion continuous improvement across teams.
  
• Engage with stakeholders to align on project scope, schedules, and release plans.
  

Mandatory Requirements:

• Minimum 9 years in a lead mobile application development role, with extensive experience in Javascript web or equivalent frameworks OR 9+ years in Swift/Kotlin development and their predecessors.
  
• At least 5 years’ hands-on experience building Xamarin or MAUI solutions (including Xamarin.Forms and/or Xamarin.Native).
  
• Proven track record developing, deploying and supporting cross-platform mobile applications.
  
• Technical leadership experience, including managing and coaching squads, plus direct client/customer engagement.
  
• Must be based in, or within commuting distance to Brisbane, with the ability to work in the CBD at least 3 days/week.
  

Highly Desirable:

• Australian Baseline Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
  
• Previous experience working with government agencies.
  
• Experience with cloud messaging APIs and push notification services.
  
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile app deployments.
  
• Proficient in code version control tools such as Git.
  
• Exposure to agile methodologies and practices.
  
• Strong UI/UX design sensibility; ability to collaborate with designers.
  
• Familiarity with .NET framework.
