Senior Technical Functional Consultant

Dynamics 365 Customer Service | Power Platform | Brisbane CBD

We are seeking an experienced Senior Techno Functional Consultant to support the delivery of a major digital transformation program based in Brisbane CBD.

This role will suit someone who is strong across both functional analysis and hands-on Dynamics 365 delivery, with experience translating business requirements into practical, accessible and well-designed Dynamics 365 Customer Service solutions.

You will be joining a team responsible for the deployment, support, development and maintenance of Dynamics 365 CRM solutions, including workflows, plug-ins, integrations, data mapping, configuration, testing and technical documentation. The role forms part of a broader multi-year transformation program, with potential for longer-term engagement as the program continues to evolve.

About the role

As the Senior Techno Functional Consultant, you will work closely with architects, technical leads, business analysts, product owners, developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality Dynamics 365 outcomes.

You will be involved across the full delivery lifecycle, including workshops, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, configuration, data migration, testing, UAT support, documentation and continuous improvement.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys sitting between business and technology, while still being close enough to the platform to understand how the solution should actually be built, tested, released and supported.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with architects, technical leads and delivery teams to support high-quality Dynamics 365 outcomes
  • Run workshops to understand business processes and translate them into functional requirements, user stories and wireframes
  • Configure Dynamics 365 Customer Service to align with business processes
  • Support solution design with a strong focus on user experience, accessibility and usability
  • Perform gap analysis and identify where custom extensions may be required
  • Prioritise out-of-the-box Dynamics 365 capability where possible to reduce unnecessary complexity
  • Support data migration, system configuration, unit testing and user acceptance testing
  • Create and maintain functional design, technical design and as-built documentation
  • Review user stories with business analysts and product owners to confirm completeness and accuracy
  • Support entity model design, data rules, data mappings and integration mappings
  • Participate in peer reviews, design reviews and team knowledge sharing
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to development practices, standards and tooling

Skills and experience

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Senior Dynamics 365 Developer
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Techno Functional Consultant role
  • Strong experience with Dynamics 365 Customer Service
  • Experience implementing Application Lifecycle Management across Dynamics 365 build and release processes
  • Experience building modular solutions using managed solutions
  • Strong understanding of Dynamics 365 CRM modules, solution lifecycle, dependencies and best practices
  • Experience translating business requirements into functional and technical designs
  • Experience working with business analysts, product owners, developers and senior stakeholders
  • Experience with Git and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Power Automate, workflows, cloud flows, plug-ins, client-side integrations and Power BI
  • Experience with Power Apps Portals and Unified Client Interface or Canvas Apps
  • Strong data analysis skills, including entity modelling, data rules and integration mappings
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including directory services, service bus, web services and DevOps pipelines
  • A strong understanding of UX, accessibility and inclusive design principles

Highly regarded

  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
  • Experience with client relationship management or case management systems
  • Experience delivering solutions for internal and external users, including public-facing users
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards
  • SAFe experience or accreditation
  • Experience with Angular 6+, C#, HTML, CSS and Web APIs
  • Previous experience in large government, public sector or enterprise environments
