Are you an experienced Business Analyst with strong fintech/ banking or mortgage domain expertise? Our client is seeking a Techno-Functional Business Analyst Lead to guide a high-performing BA team and drive critical system and process improvement initiatives across our mortgage processing operations.

About the Role

As the Techno-Functional Business Analyst Lead, you will play a key role in shaping business analysis capability while delivering end-to-end analysis across multiple projects. You will influence process optimisation, system enhancements, and data integrity efforts across mortgage workflows.

You’ll lead a small team of Business Analysts, ensuring alignment, consistency, and high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership, Mentoring & Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead and mentor a small BA team — providing guidance, reviewing deliverables, and maintaining documentation standards.
• Set direction, prioritise workload, and ensure strong communication between business and technical stakeholders.
• Promote best practices and drive continuous improvement within the BA function.
• Support performance management: goal setting, development planning, and career growth.
• Manage resource planning, allocation, hiring, onboarding, and capability uplift.

Soft Skills & Delivery Attributes

• Excellent engagement and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to deliver under broad direction.
• Proactive approach to identifying risks, resolving issues, and recommending solutions.

Core Business Analysis Expertise

• Deep knowledge of BABOK-aligned analysis frameworks across elicitation, stakeholder management, process mapping, and solution evaluation.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
• Proven experience in workflow design, process improvement, and ensuring data quality in financial or mortgage platforms.

Technical / Functional Skills

• Strong understanding of system configuration and data mapping, especially using XML structures across integrated systems.
• Familiarity with API integrations, data migrations, and workflow automation tools (advantageous).
• Comfortable collaborating with architects, developers, and QA teams to ensure requirements are feasible, traceable, and testable.

Industry & Domain Knowledge

• Experience in financial services, lending, settlements, or mortgage processing is highly desirable.
• Understanding of mortgage operations, title searches, or settlement workflows is a strong plus.
• Awareness of compliance obligations, privacy requirements, and data accuracy within financial systems.
