Transformation Program – Training Delivery Lead

Location: Melbourne or Brisbane
Contract: 12 months (with potential 6-month extension)

Lead Training Delivery for a National Aviation Transformation

We are seeking an experienced Training Delivery Lead to drive the planning, coordination, and execution of large scale, high impact training programs across a safety critical operational workforce.

This role supports one of Australia’s most significant aviation transformation initiatives, delivering next generation Air Traffic Management capability. You will lead the end to end delivery of competency based training that enables the transition to a new national air traffic management platform.

This is a senior leadership role requiring strong governance capability, transformation experience, and the confidence to influence executive and operational stakeholders.


The Opportunity

You will own the training delivery life cycle from strategy and planning through to execution, readiness reporting, and continuous improvement.

Working across a workforce of 700+ operational personnel, you will ensure training outcomes align with regulatory obligations, operational readiness targets, and broader program milestones.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of large scale training initiatives supporting transition to new operational systems
  • Develop and own the end to end Training Delivery Plan (scheduling, resourcing, governance, risk mitigation, reporting)
  • Provide executive-level reporting on training progress, risks, and workforce readiness
  • Drive readiness assessments and training effectiveness reviews
  • Oversee development and deployment of training materials aligned to regulatory standards
  • Manage and mentor training specialists, instructional designers, and subject matter experts
  • Collaborate with senior operational and program leaders to align training with transition milestones
  • Ensure compliance with aviation training regulatory frameworks

About You

You are a confident transformation leader with deep experience delivering training programs in high risk, safety critical or highly regulated environments.

You bring:

  • Extensive experience leading large scale training delivery programs
  • Proven success in complex system or organisational transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of aviation, defence, or regulated industry training frameworks (highly desirable)
  • Executive level stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in high pressure environments
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external partners
  • Strong analytical, reporting and risk management capability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Aviation, Education, Training, Management or related discipline
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)
  • OJTI or ATSWpA qualifications (desirable)

  • Comprehensive Training Delivery Plan
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Plan
  • Monthly Workforce Readiness & Training Progress Reports
  • Oversight of Training Delivery Execution
  • Final Training Effectiveness Review

Travel Requirements

Some domestic travel will be required, including:

  • Melbourne ↔ Brisbane (approximately 3–4 trips per year)
  • Occasional operational site visits (1–2 per year)

All travel will be arranged and approved in advance. Reasonable work related travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with policy.
