Treasury Manager, self-insurance
Our client is searching for a Group Treasury Manager for a 15-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role with broad exposure, focusing on the company's self-insurance portfolio (Workers Compensation and Public Liability). The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality treasury advice and service.
Responsibilities:
- Execution of self-insurance financial management, including the development of accurate budgets, forecasts, and business unit allocations.
- Manage the Group’s self-insurance P&L and provisions, overseeing the monthly close process, forecasting, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Lead the day-to-day management of the quarterly, half-yearly, and full-year actuarial valuation processes for WC and PL liabilities.
- Prepare provision recommendations for the Board and manage financial reporting, audit processes, and annual insurance policy renewals.
- Contribute to the governance of the Group’s claims management functions by providing insights on key metrics and portfolio performance.
- Support Group Treasury initiatives, including continuous process improvements and system administration.
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Significant experience in workers’ compensation, public liability, or a related financial field within a large corporate environment. Experience from an ASX-listed company, broker, or insurance firm is highly beneficial.
- Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders (internal teams, actuaries, auditors, brokers) and exert influence to deliver on commitments.
- Strong experience in supporting decision-making in a complex and rapidly evolving business environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to turn insights into action and drive process efficiencies.
