UX Designer
Adelaide | Contract (6 months)
Paxus is partnering with a government organisation to engage an experienced UX Designer for a key digital transformation initiative.
This role will support the modernisation of legacy systems and the delivery of user-centred digital services across a complex, enterprise environment.
About the Role
You will play a key role in shaping intuitive, accessible, and user-focused digital experiences. Working across the full design lifecycle, you will lead research, design, and usability activities to ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with user and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead user research, usability testing, and analysis activities
- Develop user journeys, service blueprints, and experience flows
- Translate user insights into practical design solutions
- Provide guidance on usability, accessibility (WCAG), and interaction design
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, delivery, and technical stakeholders
- Contribute to UX standards, design systems, and best practices
- Support the delivery of modern, integrated digital platforms
Core Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a UX Designer role
- Strong end-to-end UX capability (research, design, testing)
- Proven experience producing UX artefacts (journeys, flows, wireframes, etc.)
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Experience working in complex or enterprise environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
Desirable Skills
- Experience within government or regulated environments
- Exposure to large-scale digital transformation or migration programs
- Familiarity with legacy system modernisation projects
- Relevant qualifications in design, UX, or related fields
