Job description

Our client is undertaking a digital transformation towards becoming a utility of the future by implementing a fully digital system where their systems and data, and therefore their people, are better connected.

The Digital Division within the department provides and supports information and communications technology products, services and solutions for the department and its subsidiary companies. The Enterprise Intelligence team within the Digital Division provides valuable services in relation to leveraging the organisations data to inform business decisions and support innovation.

We are seeking a Data Developer/Engineer and a Data Modeller who will be responsible for the implementation of enterprise data pipelines to meet business reporting, analytical and big data needs within the Enterprise Intelligence team.

1.1. Requirements

The position requirements are as follows:

  • Evolve the department's Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) which is a cloud-based, large-scale data and intelligence solution that is customer focused, easy to consume and create business impact.
  • Contribute to the uplift of data modelling practices, standards, approaches and tooling.
  • Develop designs for enterprise data models, data pipelines and analytic models.
  • Participate in the evolution of data management practices standards, data modelling approaches, naming conventions, data quality and metadata management.
  • Comply with standards, data security / privacy obligations, quality rules and the department's Information Management Framework.
  • Contribute to the design of data ingest pipelines to support unstructured, semi-structured and structured data.
  • Collaborate effectively with project team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and up-skilling of the Enterprise Intelligence team.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to health, safety and environment and support a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Compliance with all relevant Legislation, policies, procedures and practices as varied from time to time.
