Job description

Join a well known QLD Government Department where you will provide top-notch administrative and technical support to a small yet dynamic team responsible for delivering Information Management and ICT functions for three major agencies across Queensland.

Your Role: As an IT Administrative Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the backbone of these three agencies operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • IT Equipment Management: Maintaining an accurate inventory of IT equipment, including laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and software licenses.

  • Asset Management: Taking action on asset disposals, ensuring devices are sanitised, and asset register records are meticulously updated.

  • Administrative Support: Providing high-level administrative support for Information Management and Information Security functions, including managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems and applications.

  • Compliance Checks and Audits: Completing periodic identity and records compliance checks and audits to ensure adherence to regulations.

  • Task Management: Recording, tracking, and actioning work tasks using IT Service Management tools, while collaborating with Service Desk and Facilities teams to ensure effective delivery of work activities.

  • Content Creation: Creating and maintaining high-quality technical content, including IT documentation, user guides, procedures, educational resources, and user-friendly content on the SharePoint intranet.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analysing and collating data to prepare a wide range of reports and documentation to support decision-making processes.

  • Team Contribution: Contributing positively to a respectful, inclusive, and productive team environment.

About You: To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven Effectiveness: A track record of delivering responsive administration support services, preferably in an IT-related environment.

  • Digital Literacy: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft products such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Organisational Skills: Demonstrated organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuously improving business systems.

  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Technical Knowledge: Experience or the ability to quickly gain knowledge of asset management practices, identity management tasks, ITSM systems such as ServiceNow or Jira, and SharePoint content creation.

  • Personal Qualities: Attention to detail, adaptability, a positive proactive attitude, and customer focus.
