Job description
Our client is a large government department based in Adelaide CBD. They are looking for a PMO Coordinator to join them on a contract basis, initially for 12 months + extensions on offer. This role requires office days but also allows some WFH flexibility.
The role:
A Senior PMO Coordinator is required for a period of 12 months to support the PMO in various assurance, administrative and operational tasks including improve the planning and delivery process by developing and implementing project management guidelines, procedures and best practice standards; facilitate key project activities including financial management and reporting; compile and analyse project data; and undertake project assurance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement consistent project management standards, guidelines, procedures and templates that align to the Portfolio Program Project Management Framework.
- Facilitate project management document approvals.
- Coordinate the project start-up and closure process.
- Liaise with the Project Manager to update financial forecasts; reconcile project costs; analyse cost variance and update financial data where required.
- Monitor the routine progress of projects and provide quality assurance of project reporting.
- Ensure project information meets the quality standards required of the PMO and identify trends for areas for improvement in the following areas:
- Project scheduling
- Resource assignment to activities
- Project register population (risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, benefits, stakeholders, actions, lessons learned, change requests)
- Phase gate assessments
- Project management documentation.
- Coordinate Phase Gate reviews between the Project Manager and PMO Manager.
- Provide training and support of the new Portfolio Management system (Camms.Project).
- Identify opportunities for PMO process improvements.
- Manage and maintain integrity of project records across information systems (SharePoint and Objective)
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience providing effective project management support.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of project portfolio management.
- Experience developing project management guidelines, procedures, and templates.
- Experience using PPM tool/s.
- Experience in project financial management and control.
- Experience in records management.
- Proficient in MS Office products including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Outstanding time management skills.
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
