One of Australia's largest government departments are looking for a Procurement Manager to join the team and play a key role in optimising their acquisition of goods and services. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive procurement strategy that delivers cost-effective solutions while ensuring quality and compliance.
What you'll do:
- Organise procurement needs and advise on the most suitable acquisition methods (open market, framework agreements, etc.)
- Conduct thorough market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers
- Develop and manage the tender, evaluation, and acquisition process from start to finish
- Negotiate contracts with preferred suppliers, ensuring the best value for the organisation
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure clear specifications and efficient procurement processes
- Establish and maintain a robust procurement framework that adheres to legal and regulatory requirements
- Stay up-to-date on market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency
You'll be a great fit if you have:
- Proven experience in procurement, ideally within government environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and relevant legislation
