Job description

Our client is currently seeking to engage an experienced Program Assurance officer for a long term contract with lots of scope.

In this role, you will work as part of the Program team and be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of assurance activities. This includes drafting the assurance plan, managing assurance activities, conducting reviews, and maintaining accurate records. This role also supports stakeholder engagement, prepares governance deliverables, and provides general support across the program.

Based on Program priorities, the Program Assurance Officer will undertake a range of assurance activities including:

  • Drafting the assurance plan for the Program.
  • Managing assurance activities and ensuring they are carried out effectively.
  • Conducting reviews and assessments to ensure compliance with program standards and processes.
  • Identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies related to program assurance.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation for the program's assurance activities.
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and communication needs related to program assurance.
  • Assisting in the preparation of governance deliverables.
  • Providing general support across the program and workstreams on a range of ad-hoc assurance activities.

In addition to the assurance responsibilities, the Program Assurance Officer also has the ability to take on additional tasks such as:

  • Resourcing and Budget Management
  • Governance and Reporting
  • Drafting Program Documentation

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a Program Assurance role or Program Office with a focus on assurance activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and respond to changing priorities while producing well-written and accurate work within deadlines.
  • Commonwealth Procurement experience working in a Program undertaking high-risk/high-value sourcing activities.
  • A good team member with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Familiarity with PRINCE2, MSP, and Agile methods.
  • Experience working in a Program undertaking high-risk/high-value sourcing.
