Job description
Our client is seeking a Financial Accountant specialising in Balance Sheet Reconciliation and financial reporting risks. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, particularly in relation to balance sheet accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a standardised approach to balance sheet reconciliation across a prioritised sub-set of accounts
- Identify and investigate variances or discrepancies in balance sheet accounts, collaborating with relevant departments to resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare journal entries and adjustments as necessary to correct errors and maintain the accuracy of financial records.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of balance sheet reconciliation procedures.
- Provide support for internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Present findings, recommendations, and status updates to the project
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial accounting, with a focus on balance sheet reconciliations and control frameworks.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is advantageous.
- Prior experience within the banking or financial services industry is beneficial
