Role Snapshot:

  • Position: EL1 Senior Desktop Standard Operating Environment Engineer
  • Contract Period: 01 May 2024 - 30 June 2025 (with potential for extensions)
  • Location: Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide (with initial office attendance required)
  • WFH?: Some WFH options available
  • Clearance: Must hold NV1 Clerance

About the Role: As an EL1 Senior Desktop Standard Operating Environment Engineer, you'll manage and maintain the desktop standard operating environments for a key federal governemnt department and partner agencies. You'll tackle design, configuration, deployment, and technical security with flair, all while exercising your initiative and judgment in interpreting policies and procedures.

Primary Technologies You'll Work With: Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Applications Packager, Rapid 7, Broadcom Data Centre Security Engineer.

Key Tasks/Duties/Requirements:

  • Provide third-level support for users and managed personal computing devices.
  • Offer broad technical support for project build, test, and solution deployment activities.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams on hardware design, procurement, and deployment.
  • Maintain and update supported products through regular maintenance and updating.
  • Execute technical change management and prepare a range of technical and corporate documentation.

About you:

  1. Experience Ace: You must bring a minimum of 3+ years' hands-on experience in SOE migrations, projects, and implementation.

  2. Desktop Exp: You must have a minimum of three plus years of solid experience as a Windows Desktop SOE Engineer in enterprise environments.

  3. Tech Exp: Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager is essential, covering SCCM, Intune, Active Directory - Group Policy Management, RBAC, AppLocker, and WDA.

  4. Scripting Maestro: Strong scripting ability in PowerShell and VB Script is a non-negotiable. Tehy need someone who can script their way out of any situation.

  5. Deployment Dynamo: You must have proven experience in facilitating large-scale software deployments, upgrades, and enhancements of environment-wide configurations, including user policies, device policies, security policies, and automation scripts through enterprise-grade endpoint management platforms.

  6. Security Sentinel: Experience in VPN technologies and Active Directory - Group Policy Management, RBAC, and M365 Security Products (Microsoft Defender) is vital. We're seeking a security-savvy individual to safeguard our syste
