Job description

This Key QLD Government Department is currently undergoing a significant cloud transformation program as part of a wider Digital Transformation initiative. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager specialising in the Cloud Control Matrix (CCM) framework to lead the cloud transformation efforts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the CCM framework, and implementing robust security controls to protect their assets and data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of cloud-related projects, from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with the CCM framework and organisational security requirements.
  • Assess the security posture of cloud service providers and evaluate their compliance with the controls outlined in the CCM framework.
  • Develop project plans that incorporate security controls and risk mitigation strategies in accordance with the CCM framework.
  • Identify potential risks associated with cloud projects and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Communicate regularly with internal teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address security concerns.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, monitoring service level agreements (SLAs), and conducting regular assessments of vendor security practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices for cloud security and governance, and implement changes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of cloud-related initiatives.

About You:

  • Demonstrated previous experience working within a government department, ensuring familiarity with governmental processes, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proven track record of successfully operating within a Waterfall project management environment, showcasing adeptness in structured project methodologies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Cloud Control Matrix (CCM) implementation and application, with hands-on experience ensuring cloud security governance and compliance.
  • Location requirement: Based in Brisbane, Australia, exclusively.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, coupled with a talent for fostering strong relationships and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
