Position summary
The Test Analyst - Investments will support the Test Manager with the Quality Assurance and Quality Control delivery of investment initiatives. This role will be responsible for the creation and execution of test scenarios and cases in line with the defined Investment data management Quality Assurance framework.
As part of the role, the Test Analyst will also be expected to work closely with SMEs from various business areas in the delivery of small to medium sized projects, supporting business teams to deliver a quality assured release.
Key accountabilities
- Actively promote adherence to of the defined Quality Assurance framework, ensuring this is followed during all project deliveries
- Attend requirement review sessions to ensure captured requirements are testable and appropriate acceptance criteria is defined
- Participate in the provision of detailed test estimation breakdown and risk assessment documentation business processes under test
- Carry out manual test case execution as required for SIT and UAT
- Work collaboratively with business teams to obtain crucial information for improved test coverage
- Document all issues raised in enough details so they can be investigated and resolved
- Produce daily test execution and defect reports as required during execution phase
- Prepare representative test data for in scope test phases and assist in the configuration of test environments as required
- Build strong, trusted relationships with business within the team
- Provide test estimates for assigned testing activities
- Ability to apply a risked based approach in the execution of test scenarios
- Development and maintenance of regression test packs
- Where appropriate, automation of selected test cases
- Work closely with third party suppliers in the delivery of key projects and other system enhancements
Technical knowledge
- Understanding of Agile behaviours, tools and techniques: e.g. collaboration, work breakdown, automated testing, Kanban etc (mandatory)
- Sound knowledge of how information and technology contributes' to business performance (mandatory)
- Sound knowledge of investments and the information technology and technology industry trends and issues impacting Investment teams (mandatory)
- Sound knowledge of data validation approaches and importance of good quality data (mandatory)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years appropriate industry experience, with at least 2 years in an Investment/Financial Services Test Analyst role
- Experience working on/delivering Data Migration strategies and projects
- Experience of working on different test phase (ST, SIT, UAT)
- Proven delivery track record
- Experience of working closely with Business Analysts and Development teams
- Experience with test automation frameworks and strategy. (Ideally exposure to Selenium, Postman and/or other QA tools)
- Experience in using Jira and Confluence
- Understanding of and experience in Software Development Life Cycles, including Waterfall and Agile approaches
