The role entails leading and overseeing the Cards and Payments Change team, spearheading software development initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry schemes. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to drive enhancements within the payments and switch platform, enabling the incumbent to stay updated on cutting-edge industry technology and actively contribute to shaping the Australian payments landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage resources and budgets to ensure optimal project execution.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the engineering team's performance, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Spearhead the recruitment and hiring processes for Base24/Mainframe engineers, ensuring the team is equipped with top talent.
- Uphold best practices and standards in software development, overseeing adherence to quality protocols.
- Lead the implementation and management of testing processes, collaborating with the enterprise test team to define scope and execute test cases.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, fostering a culture of risk awareness and mitigation.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, facilitating a clear understanding of business requirements and providing regular project status updates.
- Foster collaboration with other technical teams interfacing with the switching platform throughout development and testing phases.
- Utilize expertise in analyzing existing code and configuration to establish the current state and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Independently drive changes based on defined requirements, demonstrating autonomy and proficiency in development tasks.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated proficiency in leadership and management, with a track record of successfully guiding teams towards project success.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, facilitating effective collaboration and rapport among team members.
- Skilled in leading and mentoring senior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the cards and payments industry, with a focus on staying updated on industry trends and regulations.
- Proficient in AS2805 and ISO8583 standards, ensuring compliance and alignment with industry protocols.
- Over a decade of programming experience on BASE24 (or equivalent products running on HPE Nonstop), enabling autonomous development of customizations and enhancements.
- Deep expertise in ATM and POS transaction processing, providing insights crucial for efficient system operation.
- Excellent aptitude for requirement analysis, translating business needs into comprehensive technical designs.
- Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding throughout project lifecycles.
