Our client is a large Queensland Health department and they are looking for a Principal Project Manager to join them on a contract through to October 2025 + possible extensions. This role is based in Fortitude Valley + flexible WFH on offer.
The Program is looking for a very strong Project Manager with demonstrated experience managing large, complex initiatives from initiation to completion from a project delivery and performance perspective. The Principal Project Manager will manage the schedule, budget, scope, risks and issues, including relevant processes ensuring compliance to governance standards and requirements, including work packages. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong financial management, scheduling (Microsoft Project preferred), and reporting skills.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate their experience in writing complex governance documentation, tailored to varying stakeholder groups, including Project Initiation Documents, Highlight reports, Sprint Plans and reports, Benefits Realisation Plans, and the like.
The team operates a P2 / Agile Delivery Methodology and therefore, your experience working in a hybrid delivery model will be well regarded as will any previous Health experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Ensure project outcomes are achieved and enterprise solutions are delivered that are responsive to customer needs.
- Ensure project outcomes are achieved and project management capability is maintained within the agency by leading a multi-disciplinary team/s
- Provide advice and strategic input to project deliverables, to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Health strategies and architecture.
- Ensure projects are managed in accordance with the best practice guidelines and Queensland Health's formal project management (PM) approach to ensure consistent and quality outcomes are achieved.
- Guide, lead and mentor team members and ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project life cycle.
- Manage projects by monitoring and reporting on project related trends and performance against project plans and budgets.
- Enable informed decision making on project issues by developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations and information papers for project stakeholders.
