As the Release/Deployment Manager your role will have the following responsibilities

  • Develop detailed release plans
  • Develop an integrated technology component delivery plan across projects with sufficient detail for teams to deliver components (e.g., data stores, interfaces, etc) to an agreed integrated schedule
  • Identify synergies and technical interdependencies within project releases and resolve potential conflicts to ensure release integrity
  • Develop and maintain the integrated release calendar or schedule for mapping program/project priorities
  • Manage the release schedule and milestones throughout the project lifecycle
  • Own and run a Pre-Release checkpoint meeting to ensure all Projects are ready for Deployment
  • Assist with developing and implementing an approach to tag and track what is in a Release
  • Define release reporting (e.g., successful planned releases, unplanned outages in release, unknown incidents/disruptions caused by a release)
  • Enable and support delivery partners to prioritise, optimise and deliver valued outcomes
  • Ensure that delivery team purpose and objectives are clear and linked to the broader vision, strategy, and roadmap for the projects
  • Work closely with iteration managers, project managers and other leaders to deliver initiatives and products utilising lean and agile project management methodologies
  • Manage delivery risks and issues and assist by removing blockers
  • Build strong relationships with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure delivery is smooth and customer centric
  • Provide technical advice and direction to teams and customers with a view to inform business strategy and deliver technical solutions that drive innovation and business outcomes
  • Work with team leads to efficiently coordinate resources to meet release management deliverables where in scope and appropriate
  • Ensure compliance of all processes and procedures within the release team with the internal project team and stakeholders
  • Take ownership of the release lifecycles, including scheduling and managing systems to package, build, test and deploy updates into a live environment
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews and Milestone reviews, and participate in business Go/No-Go reviews
  • Plan the roll-out process and the sequence of new, updated Systems, Applications and Platforms, including the development and publishing of activities during a deployment window using run/playbooks
  • Coordinate and manage deployment checkpoints and stage gates during a deployment window, including any Go/No-Go decisions
  • Identify root cause for deployment-related downtime and participate in after-action reviews for production deployment activities
  • Provide authorisation for critical release activity and point of escalation, while leading the assessment, analysis, planning and design of release packages, including assessment of risk, adhering to the risk management framework and practices
  • Comply with all work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.

To secure this contract you must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen - Security Clearance ideal
  • Demonstrate achievement in delivery and release management roles across multiple Projects, in both establishment and delivery phases of multi-year technology refresh and/or transformation programs
  • Have proven project delivery capability, including overseeing multiple concurrent service providers and customer implementation teams
  • Demonstrate experience working with technically complex projects involving high-volume transactions, very large data sets and the integration of multiple technologies
  • Achieves results and meets deadlines
