Job description
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer at Level 4 to join dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing network infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance and security.
You will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and project managers to ensure the successful implementation of internal projects. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in providing expert-level technical support and mentoring for network engineers and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Cisco Network Stack: Proficiently work with Cisco networking technologies, ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our network infrastructure.
- Palo Alto Firewall: Manage and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls, implementing robust security measures to protect our network assets.
- Network Design: Develop detailed network designs, with a focus on warehouse wireless and other retail technologies. Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps aligned with the needs of the retail business.
- Collaboration: Work closely with peer engineers, project managers, and vendors on internal projects, fostering effective communication and teamwork.
- Consultation: Provide expert advice on network design and changes, leveraging your extensive knowledge and experience in the field.
- Infrastructure Review: Conduct comprehensive reviews of existing network infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Technical Support and Mentoring: Offer Level 4 technical support to network engineers and infrastructure teams. Provide mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional development.
- Escalation Support: Assist with escalation requests from the existing IT team by providing expert advice and guidance, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
- Seamless Transition: Be sufficiently prepared to seamlessly transition into the role, demonstrating a quick understanding of existing systems and processes without extensive onboarding requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive experience in network engineering, with a focus on Cisco technologies and Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Proven experience in developing detailed network designs and technology roadmaps.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Experience providing Level 4 technical support and mentoring to junior team members.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer) are highly desirable.
