Job description

Our client seeking to engage an appropriately skilled and current Senior Storage and Data Protection Engineer. This is a 12 month contract role with 2x12 month extension options. The sucessful candidate must hold an active NV1 Security Clearance and be based in Canberra.

The Senior Storage and Data Protection Engineer will be responsible for:

  • provide key advise to the section leadership team;
  • provision of second and third level support for the agency's storage and data protection platforms;
  • manage and monitor capabilities in the storage and data protect space;
  • design and maintenance of effective strategies for storage and backup.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • provide technical expertise to ensure continued operation of a range of vendor storage and data protection products;
  • current experience with NetApp enterprise storage solutions, including OnTAP and StorageGRID;
  • current experience with Brocade fibre-channel network switching infrastructure;
  • current experience with Commvault enterprise data protection solutions across a range of technology areas;
  • ensure that current and future business requirements are met for the agency;
  • establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external parties, including senior stakeholders;

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Contemporary broad storage and data protection technologies knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor and platform environment, including but not limited to NetApp, Commvault, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and VMware.
  • Exceptional communication and engagement skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior users.
  • Strong skills and experience in design and implementation of storage and data protection systems and technologies.
  • Proven ability to share technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in translating business requirements into technical capabilities.
