This is your chance to join a team that is first to bring new technologies into the development environment to uplift and modernise the technology landscape. There is a strong focus on development strategies and templates that are shared with the wider development teams inside this part of the organisation. For example, new technologies on the horizon include Kafka and Go (Golang) and continuing the evolution of the cloud.
This company is at the forefront of flexible working, even pre-pandemic, so you will enjoy being able to work from the amazing office, or from home and with varying start times, healthy leave allowances and more. Currently they are working a split of 2 days in the office in the Brisbane CBD and 3 days from home.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Build and deliver software solutions using contemporary approaches
Troubleshoot technical problems
Maintain awareness of releases and enhancement requirements and the impact these have on system maintenance
Maintain up to date knowledge of contemporary approaches, techniques, and technologies used in the building, deployment, and configuration of software and systems
Participate in workshops, stand ups, product demonstrations and retrospectives
Resolve incidents and requests assigned to the Software Installations queue and ensure all are actioned within the SLAs and are documented correctly within the system
Identify and evaluate industry innovations, trends and offerings, act as an SME and be at the forefront of software development practices
You should have the following skills and experience:
API development in any language, as noted the future will be Go, so any React JS experience will allow you to convert easily
Experience with Containerisation, ideallty Kubernetes as that is what is used, but Rancher or similar would suffice
Cloud platform knowledge and experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
A strong desire to learn new technologies and improve your skills through self learning
Strong communication skills, this is a highly collaborative environment working in an Agile way with daily stand-ups
