Job description

Systems Administrator
As a Sys Admin, you'll work with a skilled team of engineers and vendors to support and maintain our on-premises and cloud IT infrastructure. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the business on various projects requiring new or updated IT infrastructure. You'll focus on service improvement, ensuring our IT infrastructure is well maintained and secure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex incidents and service requests for hybrid infrastructure (VMware ESXi, Azure Cloud, Windows/Linux servers).
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
  • Perform maintenance, patching, and updates for Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server, and COTS applications.
  • Ensure system configurations adhere to guidelines for VMware ESXi, Azure, and Windows/Linux.
  • Act as a SME in hybrid cloud and server management projects.
  • Translate technical concepts for stakeholders and develop automated processes with Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, and PowerShell.
  • Optimize system performance, capacity, and scalability across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Manage:
      • Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
      • O365 and Microsoft Intune (Device Management)
      • Compute and storage (VMware ESXi, Azure, physical servers)
      • LAN/WAN networking (Hybrid Environments) & Windows Server (IIS, SQL Server)
      • COTS applications and basic Linux OS management
      • Veeam Backup, Palo Alto firewalls, and MacOS MDM
  • Identify and report potential information security issues or risks. Assist in executing cyber security incident response plans.
  • Engage in capacity planning, cost optimization (VMware ESXi, Azure resources, and physical server infrastructure.), and disaster recovery planning for all relevant infrastructures.

Required Experience:

  • Similar role experience.
  • MSP experience preferred but not essential.
  • Expertise in IT infrastructure, O365, M365, and Azure solutions.
  • Management of end-user computing environments (SCCM, Microsoft Endpoint Manager).
  • Experience with AD, AAD, and Group Policy.
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Batch).
  • Ability to create technical policies and documentation.
