Job description

About Client:

  • Media client offering a 6-month contract with further extensions.
  • Join our Windows Server Team as a Windows Engineer
  • Sydney location



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide second and third-level technical support.
  • Develop and maintain Windows infrastructure, including Microsoft Windows Server 2012-2022, Active Directory services, VMware vSphere, Cisco UCS infrastructure, and MECM (SCCM).
  • Offer technical leadership in the Windows space, exploring new technologies, and recommending ways to improve and modernize Windows capabilities.
  • Co-ordinate and deliver development, maintenance, and upgrade projects related to Windows infrastructure.
  • Manage assigned projects, deliver work to agreed priorities, and provide progress reports.
  • Maintain detailed technical knowledge of Windows infrastructure, creating and updating technical standards and support documentation.
  • Provide advice and consultation on technology issues to internal clients and IT Management.
  • Mentor and coach assigned team members.
  • Actively promote organizational values and comply with workplace policies and guidelines.

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a computing-related field and/or vendor certification in appropriate technologies and/or relevant experience (MCSA, VCP highly desirable).
  • Broad knowledge (backed by 4-5 years' experience) in the design and implementation of Windows-based server infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience in the design, implementation, management, and support of enterprise server hardware, especially Cisco UCS Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, MECM (SCCM), VMware vSphere, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, and more.
  • Experience coordinating projects in a complex business and technical environment.
  • Ability to manage workload independently across multiple tasks, applying analytical skills with a structured approach.
  • Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; familiarity with ITIL, change management, standard project management methodologies, and project reporting environments.
