Job description

Our Federal Government Client is seeking an experienced API Integration Support Specialist to join their team. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring seamless system integration's and providing expert technical support. This is a 12 months contracting role with a 1x12 months extension option. This role is open to ACT, NSW, VIC and QLD. This role is open to Australian Citizens with the ability to obtain a Baseline Clearance.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • API Management: Liaise with and assist digital partners to register and subscribe to APIs. Maintain and configure MuleSoft and IBM API Connect APIs and applications.
  • Testing & Monitoring: Undertake testing of APIs and environments as required. Monitor and report on end-to-end API health, performance, and statistics.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Troubleshoot API issues and collaborate with external vendors to resolve them. Work closely with technical and development teams to investigate and resolve complex incidents.
  • Authentication Assistance: Become familiar with the authentication system to assist partners with authentication problems.
  • Communication & Reporting: Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with technical and business staff up to management level. Collate, analyze, and produce customized reports and dashboards in consultation with IT and business teams.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Develop and maintain documentation on support processes, policies, and configuration. Manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Incident Management: Apply best practice ITIL methodology for incident management and service requests. Raise support tickets and liaise with external vendors.
  • Agile Collaboration: Participate in team activities, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups, to review and discuss system improvements with developers and third-party vendors.

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • Over 5 years of experience working with APIs and/or system integrations, demonstrating a deep understanding of integration protocols and standards.
  • Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure environments, effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Extensive experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies, actively participating in sprints, retrospectives, and collaborative planning sessions.
  • A quality-focused approach to developing, improving, and implementing streamlined processes that enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Proficiency in DevOps environments, with hands-on experience configuring and supporting CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous integration and delivery.
  • Strong understanding of API and integration technologies, with the ability to quickly grasp new products and adapt to complex, mission critical environments.
  • Demonstrable experience in the administration and configuration of MuleSoft or IBM API Connect, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Exposure to CRM systems, enhancing the ability to integrate and support customer relationship management platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort with innovative approaches to accessibility, with enthusiasm for accessible design and development practices.
