Job description

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Application Specialist to lead the configuration, delivery, and support of a variety of applications within a student management ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be immediately productive and demonstrate high proficiency in configuring and administering applications related to class timetabling, exam scheduling, ID card management, industry placements, and other third-party systems.

You will be hands-on with both application configuration and data-related tasks, working closely with stakeholders from both the business and IT teams. A strong understanding of the business user perspective and the ability to translate requirements into practical technical solutions is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, administer, and support student lifecycle-related applications (timetabling, exam scheduling, ID cards, industry placements, etc.)

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and design effective solutions.

  • Maintain system integrity and performance across highly integrated, complex environments.

  • Manage large volumes of data with a focus on data quality, reporting, and analysis.

  • Work both independently and collaboratively to meet project goals and deadlines.

  • Provide timely support and resolution of issues within the application ecosystem.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in administration and configuration of complex enterprise applications in education or similar environments.

  • Experience with systems related to timetabling, scheduling, ID management, and work-integrated learning.

  • Strong understanding of both on-premises and cloud-based integrated application environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, clean, and report on large datasets.

  • Ability to work closely with business users to gather and refine evolving requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience in large and complex organisations.
