Job description

Our Federal Government Client is looking for an experienced APS6 Senior Workforce Planner to join their team. This is a 12 moths contracting role with a 2x12 months extension option. This role is open to ACT. This role is open to Australian Citizens with an NV1 security clearance.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Workforce Planning Framework: support to embed and refine the agency's tranche 2 resource planning framework targeted at Branch managers outlining the planning process, including key metrics, data sources, analysis methodologies, and decision-making criteria.
  • Demand and Supply Forecasting Model: Create a robust supply/demand forecasting model incorporating historical data, business trends, and external data (OSCA) to predict future workforce requirements in alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Capability and Capacity Assessment: Conduct a thorough assessment of current workforce capacity/capability, including skills, competencies, and availability to identify gaps and surpluses.
  • Resource Allocation Optimisation: Propose strategies for optimising resource allocation based on demand forecasts, capacity assessment, and business priorities.
  • Communication Plan: Develop a communication plan to effectively disseminate planning insights to relevant stakeholders on a rolling 6 month basis.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Workforce Planning, Human Resource Management, Strategic Communication and Writing Qualifications in Human Resources or Business Management would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of workforce planning and reporting products within a Defence context, and to demonstrate accuracy of demand forecasts provided
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver reductions in resource over/underutilisation
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver improvements in operational efficiency
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver workforce planning insights in a timely manner
  • Organisational capability and capacity to deliver to a defined scope.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of workforce planning and reporting products within a Federal Government context.
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of HR, Finance and Governance functions to deliver and project manage new system requirements.
